Cottage Feast food section
As the handling editor for Cottage Life’s food content, I recognized in 2013 that our recipe features (a collection of recipes on a single theme, such as breakfasts) were losing impact. I developed a new food section for the magazine. It would have fewer recipes but more technique, food product reviews, and kitchen equipment guides. More frequent beer and wine content proved popular with readers and advertisers, and a regular barbecue page enhanced the magazine’s position as the expert grilling source in Canada.
